Improved Coach Assist: faster actionable insights

We’ve updated Coach Assist to help Veo coaches get answers faster than ever before across a range of coaching topics. With our new Coaches’ Voice collaboration, you can now discover quality coaching educational content with less effort.

What's new

• Coach Assist is now running on the latest flagship AI model from ChatGPT (GPT-5.5). Only the best will do for our coaches .

• Fouls and throw-ins are now part of the dataset it has access to. You’ll be able to get more insight on team discipline.

• Previously, the ‘Suggest a training drill’ smart topic included a link to a YouTube video. We made best efforts to return relevant links but it was a bit hit and miss. Now, we’ve partnered with Coaches’ Voice to provide links to high-quality, exclusive coaching content from the Coaches’ Voice archive. It includes details session plans, videos, and tactics-board content.

This update helps you get from video to useful coaching moments faster, so you can spend less time searching and more time preparing feedback for your players. With over thirty thousand questions asked since launch a few months ago, and an overall satisfaction score of 90%, we are confident Coach Assist adds value to your day.

Get the most out of your Coach Assist

Use the Personalisation feature - this one time action will make all responses more relevant. Other than adjusting the chat bot’s tone and personality, you can make sure that responses take into account other critical information, like your club’s playing style and KPIs.

Take a second to select relevant match tactics one each video. This adds great context to the bot’s responses. You’ll find the options in the Match Setup.

Take 5 minutes to enter your thoughts on the match in the Journal. This is one of the most efficient ways to ensure quality, relevant responses as Coach Assist takes your notes into account when responding.

Journal entry example:

‘Team was not as sharp in our first touch; defensive shape and organization left us exposed at times; struggled in maintaining possession and connecting passes to our teammates; overall good shot selection.’

• What would we do differently next time as I thought we deserved to win the game?

• Give me a summary on the last 3 games that I can send to the team and parents. Give me high level information on each game, key stats, insights into what went well, where we could improve and any trends that you notice.

Coach Assist is currently in testing, and is included in your Analytics plan for free. Use the thumbs up/thumbs down on the responses to let us know how it’s doing. All feedback is shared with the product team to help us improve the experience.
